WHAT’S THE SITUATION?
Around 80 per cent of African people live on less than US$2 a day. Corruption is one factor perpetuating poverty. Poverty and corruption combine to force people to make impossible choices. Poor people often have low access to education and can remain uninformed about their rights, leaving them more easily exploited and excluded. In order for these people to fight against this and other forms of social exclusion and marginalisation, poor citizens need to be educated, they need awareness.
DZARINO ACTIVITY PHOTOS
HOW DOES DZARINO COME IN?
Our activities and programmes enlighten and enable disadvantaged people to understand how the grand scheme of things work empowering them to take part in development processes and become responsible. From advocacy to binding communities to agreed development targets, we tailor every activity to the national and local context.
We focus on helping the communities focus on their most pressing issues such as education, agricultural support, water supplies or free medicines, all underpinned by the common principles of community participation. With its universal principles and adaptable methods, the programme’s approach is applicable in communities far beyond its scope.
Our activities include TRAININGS. Dzarino trains communities at the grass root level on the following :
-HIV&AIDS Capacity trainings
-Creating awareness on public health issues
-Skills trainings-handcraft, tye and dye, and beads craft
-Agribusiness training to farmers
