They can be used for variety of purposes such as handbags, beach bags carrier bags and also for the storage of clothes. The handbags are produced from natural reeds (raffia) and sisal and are woven then stitched for improved quality. They are finished by an application of clear varnish, color spraying and blending with other materials namely leather, hessian cloth, beads, shells, buttons and fasteners such as zips.
The materials used to produce these handbags are locally available in the natural environment. Including the seashore and forests while some are purchased from local markets.
